It didn't appear that the cat had much luck getting high up in jumping, and had went to lay down on the corner of a bed. So, Kiba stopped his jumping and hopped up onto the bed she was laying on. He layed down on the bed facing the cat and layed his head on his paws. "A short rest would indeed be beneficial", he thought. They hadnt rested much since waking up from inside those machines in truth. So he decided he would lay on the bed next to the feline until she was ready to depart.

Shadow yawned and blinked slowly at the wolf before turning away from the nearby bright window and curling up tighter. She rested her head on her paws and laid her tail over them. Well, new planet, may as well be nocturnal. She closed her eyes and rested, letting her mind wander over any subject it passed, and eventually fell asleep.

As Kiba watched the feline's eyelids get heavier, he noticed that his own were as well. The cat turned away from a nearby window, curled up tighter and fell asleep. Kiba was getting tired as well. He allowed himself to rest his eyes and lay his head down. "It would be good to get some rest" he thought as he slowly fell into a gentle sleep.

Her sleep was clouded, but she recognized two black and white tortoiseshell cats, each with one red eye and one silver eye, mirrored of each other, in her dream.
One of these larger cats was beside her, occasionally glancing down at her. She was kitten-sized, and so had to jog and hop to keep up with the larger. The other was ahead of them, leaping into the air, spinning around, and just entertaining himself. Occasionally, the cat beside her would glance down at her, with his left eye, an iris colored a bright blood red. His right was silver sterling, and both narrowed as they looked her over.
Kaite! He called. His voice was brisk and had a tone to it she recognized, but couldn't remember why. The other cat stopped in his tracks and padded up beside them. A black and white tortoiseshell muzzle was thrust at her, the exact opposite eye coloration from the other, and she pulled her head away from a pink tongue. The one called Kaite distracted her, and the one with the red left eye raised her forepaw with one of his and plucked a thorn out of her pad with his teeth. She hadn't even noticed it was there.
Feel better, sis? Kaite purred playfully, knocking her gently over. The two wrestled for a minute, before non-Kaite broke in with a time-sensitive anxious mew. Kaite licked her between the ears and gave a comforting purr Shadow, you'll be safe soon. We may not get to go with you, but we know you'll be safe. Right, Kato?
Of course. Kato headbutted his brother in the shoulder, and licked Shadow between the ears. Alright, let's be on our way. They won't be waiting for us. With that, both older cats' red eyes looking at her started glowing until they were the only thing Shadow could see in a vast nothingness. Then, as they would've turned to lead the way to their destination, they vanished.
Shadow slowly opened her eyes, and a stream of pale orange light greeted her through the window. She yawned and stretched, they must've slept through to the next dawn. She rolled over, uncurling herself, and watched the wolf light up in the light, especially the white stripe on his face, lit up with the bright color. She laid back and thought about her dream, who those two cats might've been, where they were taking her, if it was a memory or a dream, or if perhaps this was the dream and that was reality.
She watched the wolf and determined that this was reality, and waited for him to wake up.

Kiba stood in a long hallway with doors every few feet, and it seemed to stretch so far in each direction that he couldn't see the ends of it. The hallway was very clean and was white in color, devoid of any expression. It seemed cold wherever he was, and the hallway was dim. Kiba was confused and quickly became afraid. He couldn't remember how he ended up in this place or why he was there. He had the thought of trying to go through one of the infinite amount of doors in the hall, but then quickly became discouraged. "Which one?" he thought to himself, "there's so many, what if I go through one and it brings me nothing?". He sat for a second, paralyzed by how little he knew about what was going on. But worse, he realized he was completely alone. No one was there with him to help him find his way. No one to interact with meaningfully while on his journey seeking answers. Kiba remained sitting and became sick to his stomach at this realization. Then, suddenly, he saw something out of the corner of his eye. It was the cat, standing in one of the doorways. She walked over to him and the closer she got the less dim and dreary the hallway became. Gradually it became lighter as she approached him, and when she got to him, she licked him gently on the ear. The cat then turned around and walked back over to the door, looking back at him as if signaling that it was the right one to travel through and that he should follow. Kiba felt so relieved when he was the cat. He felt like he had been alone for an eternity before she arrived. Now that he was in her presence he felt calm and reassured. He still didn't know how he got where he was or why, but for some reason because she was there that didn't bother him much. He would find out eventually, and the cat would guide him in doing that. He knew that, and it made him feel comforted. He followed the cat through the doorway, and slowly as they entered whatever room was next it became brighter and brighter. Then he woke up, and realized there was light coming through the windows. It must have been dawn. He got up and stretched slowly, yawning as he did so, and noticed the cat was in the middle of uncurling herself and doing the same. Evidently she had woken up just before him. He was happy to see she was there, and he was indeed not alone. He whined at her and yawned again to let her know he had just woken up, and then looked at the door and whined, so that she would know he was ready to go when she was.

Shadow blinked at the wolf and stood. She sniffed around a moment, licked the wolf on the ear, and jumped to the next bed until she was on the ground in front of the door. She checked over her shoulder to see if he was following, and then walked into the hallway. She took a breath, it wasn't as sharp and acidic as it was before, odd. She looked around and looked to the wolf in hoped he remembered which direction they were headed.

The cat stood up and looked at Kiba for a second before giving him a lick on the ear and jumped on the next bed until she was on the ground near the door. She looked over at Kiba to make sure he was coming, so he jumped down and followed her out into the hallway. Kiba noticed that the air didnt burn as it had before, and felt almost as normal as the air further in the structure. The feline looked back at the wolf, waiting for him to pick a destination. So, Kiba walked down the hallway to a doorway that had caught his interest due to it having a slightly different shape than many of the others, making sure the cat was right behind him as he walked. Inside the room were more of the strange panels they had seen earlier with the pictures on them, except these had strange shapes on them that he could not distinguish. He looked around at the panels, and his eyes went across one that gave him a strange feeling. He squinted at the one particular panel, and suddenly felt like it was telling him something. Somehow he felt like he was gathering information from these shapes on the panel. "Old world......environment...unsustainable.....evacuate...", he was only able to gather bits and pieces but through some phenomenon he did not understand he could tell a little of the words these shapes spoke. "Was the old world's environment not able to sustain itself and had to be evacuated?" he wondered to himself. He turned and looked at the cat with a look of confusion on his face, wondering if this strange phenomenon was happening to her as well.

Shadow followed the wolf into the new room. She saw the panels, more monitors and plaques with strange symbols on them, neatly ordered in rows and columns. Some had images, wrapped in the symbols. The shapes seemed to be telling a story, and Shadow walked up to one and studied one three-symbol pattern that caught her eye. She had a feeling of what it meant, and looked around. That same pattern appeared multiple times along the large plaque she studied. War.
The walls told a story of war, chaos, the same humans that took everything from her must've been so arrogant and destroyed their own world because of some intraspecies conflict, likely over those useless papers or rocks. She looked to the beginning for a why, and came to understand that the humans' petty divisions were to blame, and something called MAD caused a nuclear winter. She followed the train of symbols and understood only parts, one of the monitors read: evacuate......last hope...planet....luck.... She could only guess that their world had come to an end, and that these frozen in pods are the last living beings from their planet.
She glanced back at the wolf and wondered if he gathered anything else. She thought it strange that she could understand these writings, but thought it may just be her subconsiously knowing exactly what had happened. She wondered if her companion could also feel that something was wrong back in their old world, and perhaps decipher the writings.

Kiba watched the cat as she studied the panels carefully. She was looking at individual panels for far longer than one would normally if they weren't gathering anything meaningful from them. "Was it happening to her as well?" Kiba wondered. Kiba studied the panels further, and noticed that a common theme appeared in many of them. Many emphasized the impact fighting, particularly among the humans he presumed, had regarding the destruction of the environment and the old world. "Those humans, they never learn" he thought. Kiba looked over at the cat and whined, then looked back at the panels with a look of disappointment. Maybe she would understand his signal and know that he understood what these panels spoke of. He wondered if she understood as well, and thought of how he would even be able to tell if she did.

Shadow could tell the wolf understood the many panels of the story, at least as much as she did, he must've felt something about them based on his look of disappointment at them. Humans, the cause of our misery, pain, and misfortune yet again. She growled in annoyance at them. Well at least I met this wolf, and got a new home out of their self destruction.

Kiba saw the cat look at the panels and growl in annoyance. "Well, that answers that question", he thought "now I know she sees it just as I do". He looked back at the panels and continued studying them. It was mostly the same throughout the room: fighting, war, destruction, unsustainable, evacuation. Kiba felt a disappointment towards the humans, not anger or annoyance but just pure disappointment. After all this sort of thing shouldn't be all that surprising with how they were. He walked along the room viewing the panels as he moved closer to the doorway. Then, when he was next to the door, he sat down and continued looking about the room. He would wait for the cat to finish observing the room until she wanted to leave.

Shadow scanned the rest of the panels, on one found a few columns about how beautiful Terra was once, how the humans think it all evolved, and how each one of the frozen species was chosen. This must be a history, that they do not wish to be destroyed with their world... Shadow finished scanning the tall columns. At least they thought to get a few lucky specimen away from extinction...
She thought back to the two cats from her dream, they looked like her, like they were family. Had they died? Who exactly were they? She wanted to go back to the room she'd woke up in and check to see if they were there with her, and turned to the wolf. She walked past him and into the hall, her eyes darting in the direction of the cryogenics room. Her paws started itching, but she shook it off and sat in the hall, waiting.

The cat scanned the room once more and looked at one particular panel with some names of some frozen species and some information about the old world on it. She looked at that panel for short time, and then turned and looked at him before suddenly walking rather quickly out into the hall. She looked as though she had had a thought, and had something in mind as she walked. She then sat down in the hall waiting for him. Kiba got back up and walked over to her, and saw her eyes moving repetitively as she looked at a particular room down the hall. Clearly she was interested in moving in that direction, and so Kiba began walking down the hall towards it.

She followed him close down the hall, and took the lead as it turned. She recognized the door to the first room they were in, and ducked inside after quickly checking over her shoulder for the wolf. She weaved between the pods, but did not find who she was looking for, either of them.
She turned around, a little disappointed, and sat.

The cat took the lead at some point as they headed down the hall, and led them back into the cryogenics room after looking back to make sure Kiba was following. She walked about the pods searching for something, but it appeared she did not find it. Once she determined that what she was looking for was not there, she turned at him looking a little disappointed and sat. Kiba began looking about the room at the different machines and the animals within them. He looked at canines, felines, humans and a few species of birds. It appeared there was a great diversity of animals in the structure. It must have been that way for a reason, some reason the humans knew about. He looked back over at the cat and wondered if she had noticed this. He walked back over to her and licked her, hoping it would make her feel a little better about what had disappointed her, and wondered whether she wanted to look at the machines a little more or head to another room.
